Flying out over the Southern Ocean in a helicopter is a great experience, especially when you are hovering over the Twelve Apostles, the major tourist attraction along the Great Ocean Road.
You can see the sandstone rock stacks from the shore, but getting a bird’s eye view is just magic.
The hellicopter service takes off just behind the information centre. There are a number of flight options and you can pre-book your flight or just turn up and hope.

An easy 24 km drive from Hobart, Richmond is a town that is rich in history. Boasting Australia’s oldest remaining Catholic church, St. John’s, built in 1836, the oldest goal that’s still intact, and the oldest bridge that’s still in use.
A great stop-off point on the way to Daylesford in Victoria’s mineral springs area.
King Island, famous for dairy products, crayfish, high quality beef and now golf, is a gem in the middle of Bass Strait. And it has the tallest lighthouse in Australia.
Skiathos is a small Greek island with some historical significance – it was here in 1807 that the blue and white Greek flag was first flown. The ceremony took place at the Evangelistria Monastery which is about 10 minutes out of town (or around 2 hours if you walk).
The Bardo Museum in Tunis displays the best collection of Carthaginian and Roman mosaics perhaps ever assembled – don’t miss it.
Mytilini, the capitol of Lesbos is situated on a harbour that is circled by shops, houses, restaurants, churches and a huge castle.
